This blog is for all the "Geeks" who loves Windows XP as I do.
I am sure that you might have come across all the forms and support that you find in the internet in a vain attempt to install XP on your SONY VAIO Laptop. So no more Bla Bla Bla ...
Here is how we do it
- Get all the Windows XP drivers for Sony VAIO Laptop, Extract the drivers to a folder and name it "VaioDrivers"
- Download "nLite" software from http://www.nliteos.com/download.html
- Install "nLite" ( please note: "nLite" needs .NET Framework Version 2.0 for proper functioning --> get it here )
- Now open the "nLite" application , it will ask for Windows XP installation source, put your Windows XP CD into the CD drive and point the "nLite" to your CD drive.
- "nLite" will now create a copy of your Windows Xp in your Computer
- You will be provided with options to add hot fixes, drivers ,other programs etc . Select add driver and Bootable ISO options then click next
- A new window opens now with options to add drivers. Now select include multiple drivers and point it to "VaioDrivers" folder where we have all the drivers. "nLite" will now display the list of all drivers , select all and add
- "nLite" will guide you through the step by step procedure and finally you should be able to compile a bootable ISO image
- Burn the ISO image that you created with "nLite" using any CD writing software's such as Nero, ultra ISO or Alcohol
- Done..!!! you are now ready to install your new version of Custom Build Windows XP for your SONY VAIO laptop
